By Steve Burton, ACHS Boys Golf Coach The ACHS Boy's Golf Team suffered their first match play loss of the year in a 5 man playoff Thursday afternoon, September 8, 2011, at Dale Hollow Lake Golf Course,5970 State Park Road, Burkesville, KY. The Indians posted a team score of (158) to defeat Cumberland County's (194) and tie Clinton County's (158). However, the Indians were defeated by a single stroke in the 5 man playoff to determine the winner. Individual scoring: Van Giles led the way with an even par round of (36). Alex Durham (38), Daniel Rarey (39), Jerrod Grider (45), Trey Garmon (47), and Riley Grant (49) finished off the tribe's scorecard. The Indians record now stands at 13 wins against 1 loss for the season. Coach's CritiqueTo beat a very good team on their home course you have to post 4 good scores and we just didn't do that today Clinton County is one of the favorites in the Bowling Green Region and they have 2 of the finest golfers in the state. You have to play your best to beat them and we didn't get the job done today. However, we will take this loss and gain from it. I am confident that our kids will respond well to defeat. As always, I am proud of the effort that our kids gave today. It may have not been our best but it was certainly the best we had to offer today. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to your opponent and that was the case today. -Coach Steve Burton This story was posted on 2011-09-09 07:28:46
