Livable cities are SAFE cities, Vonnie Kolbenschlag says

Term within articles, "In walking distance of Lindsey Wilson," should state whether or not it is within SAFE walking distance. Writer says 'I see students walking along some of these dangerous sides of roads and it bothers me'

Vonnie Kolbenschlag writes:
I appreciate the article that brings to our attention the lack of safe walking spaces along our city streets. I see numerous references to locations as being "within walking distance of Lindsey Wilson College." It does not state "within SAFE walking distance of Lindsey Wilson College"I see students walking along some of these dangerous sides of roads and it bothers me. Most students have cars, but the International students do not and they often walk places. Whats the message here? There is a growing concept to provide "livable cities" This term includes many ways a city can become a better place to live. One of the factors is "walkable." Busnesses often check out "livable cities" if planning relocation. Google "livable cities" to learn ways cities can become more livable. --Vonnie Kolbenschlag
