One airlifted after Columbia, KY, collision Sat., Sept. 3, 2011

From the Adair County Sheriff's Office

One person was airlifted to Louisville, two more were transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by Adair EMS, and another was taken by privately owned vehicle to WRH following a two car collision which occurred on KY E 80, at the intersection with Curtis LN, approximately 5 miles east of Columbia in Adair Co., KY, on Saturdday, September 3, 2011.



Shawnda Tabor was operating a 1992 Chevy Pickup truck traveling west on Russell Springs Rd when Christopher Meyer, operating a 1997 Ford Thunderbird attempted to make a left turn into a driveway, and turned into the path of Tabor's vehicle.

A passenger in Meyer's vehicle was extricated from the vehicle by Columbia Fire Department and was later air lifted from Westlake Regional Hospital to Louisville.

Meyer and a third passenger were taken to Westlake Regional Hospital by the Adair EMS.

Tabor was later taken to Westlake by a privately owned vehicle. -Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss

Lynn's Car Care of Columbia was preparing to take the 1992 Chevy Pickup Truck driven by Shawnda Tabor from the two-vehicle collision scene on KY E 80 at Curtis Lane as onlookers pore over the 1997 Ford Thunderbird which was driven by Christopher Meyer. A passenger in the Thunderbird required extrication. One occupant was airlifted to Louisville, two occupants were taken to Westlake by Adair County EMS, and one occupant was taken to Westlake by a private vehicle.
