LWC Mens Soccer sweeps MSC Players of Week honors

Honors come Monday, September 5, 2011, on heels of 3-0 victory over Mid-Continent University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. LWC Men's Soccer in Chicago, IL, Saturday.

COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson College's Eddy Campbell and Yuta Nomura are the Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.



The weekly conference honors are the first of the season for both and the first of their careers.

The pair combined to help Lindsey Wilson win in its season opener on Saturday over Mid-Continent (KY) University

Campbell scored the Blue Raiders' first goal of the 2011 season to earn MSC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The Kingston, Jamaica, junior midfielder helped the Blue Raiders to a 3-0 win with the game-winning goal in the game's 17th minute.

While Campbell helped the Lindsey Wilson offense, Nomura recorded his first career shutout to earn MSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

The Tokyo, Japan, freshman goalkeeper stopped both Mid-Continent shots for the clean sheet.

The cool way to watch LWC soccer

Townspeople and students alike found the shady side of Walter S. Reuling Stadium to be the best place to picnic, give kids a park like outing, and see an exciting game of Lindsey Wilson Men's Soccer. The 50+ outside the fence equaled the spectators in the stadium stands. The Blue Raiders came through again, as usual, with a 3-0 victory over Mid-South University of Mayfield, KY.
