Russell Co., KY, ATV rider airlifted to UK Medical Overcorrection a factor in early evening crash on Arlis Hale Road, two miles west of Russell Springs.. Arctic Cat overturns several times. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY - Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating a collision that occurred Saturday evening at 6:10pmCT, two miles West of Russell Springs on Arlis Hale Road. Dale Melson, age 38 of Russell Springs was operating an Arctic Cat ATV on Arlis Hale Road when he ran off the roadway, overcorrected, and overturned several times. Melson was not wearing a helmet; he was airlifted to UK Medical Center. Trooper Shepard was assisted at the scene by the Russell County Sheriff's Department, Russell County EMS, and the Russell Springs Fire Department.
