Pumpkin Chapel between two even more famous towns! IN CASEY COUNTY! Hiding in plain sight, right there between Teddy and Windsor Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Lee Murphy The beautiful community of Pumpkin Chapel is located in Casey County. At one time a school and a post office were located there. It is still easy to locate as it is 2.4 miles NNE of downtown Teddy and 2.7 miles ESE of downtown Windsor. --Lee Murphy Thanks, LEE MURPHY, for the sorely needed Enlightenment! Not only had it stumped the world renowned CM Geographists and the learned Larry Smith, this question even escaped Alan W. Reed, previously believed to be one of the World's Greatest Experts on All Things Casey County. That mantle is passed to Lee Murphy, obviously. Obviously, we need more photos of Pumpkin Chapel, as marijuana is now only remembered in these parts, obliquely, in the words of Lawrence Welk 'Modern Spiritual' One Toke Over the Line Sweet Jesus sung by two of the Great Lawrence Welk Saccharine Duo, Gail and Dale, through what looks like surgically implanted and immobilized smiles to make the NotWretched, wretch. This event occurred in 1971. It is not made up. It really happened, a clandestine operative tells us whose name will not be revealed regardless of invoking Spiro T. Agnew's memory, or waterboarding by Donnie Rumsfield. -EW This story was posted on 2011-09-01 06:45:19
