Tim Menton is new interim CEO of Westlake Regional Hospital

Rick Brown completes six months commitment to hospital and returns to his home. Statement below acknowledges his outstanding contribution to the hospital and welcomes new interim CEO Tim Menton to the post. Menton arrived in Columbia on August 16, 2011 and began full time work at Westlake on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

The following is an announcement from Westlake Regional Hospital on the transition in CEO's which took place August 17, 2011:

Statement from Westlake Regional Hospital
"Spectrum Health Partners (SHP) has served in an advisory role at Westlake Regional Hospital and to its Board of Directors since January 31, 2011. In addition, and at the request of the Board of Directors, SHP has provided Interim Executive Leadership to Westlake in both the Chief Executive Officer & Chief Financial Officer positions. SHP will continue to provide this Interim Leadership until the Board has made their selection on permanent replacements.



"Over the next several days, SHP will transition the Interim CEO responsibilities at Westlake to Timothy (Tim) Menton, FACHE. Tim is a Principal with SHP and has over 30 years healthcare experience. He has successfully served in other Interim CEO roles with SHP and prior to Joining SHP just less than two years ago served as CEO for 10 years at two non-profit hospitals in FLorida. Tim arrived in Columbia on August 16 and onsite fulltime at Westlake on August 17.

"For the past six+ months, Rick Brown has served in the interim CEO role. Rick came to Westlake in the first week of February, 2011. Rick has decided to return home and complete previous family obligations. Please join us in thanking Rick Brown for his outstanding contribution to Westlake Regional Hospital. he worked Effectively with the Board, Medical Staff, Department Managers and staff during a very challenging period for the hospital. His visibility and openness certainly was recognized and appreciated.

'Westlake Regional Hospital is a 77 bed, Joint Commission Accredited, community hospital which has been serving the Columbia/Adair County community for nearly 50 years. The hospital also owns and manages four rural health clinics located throughout the county as well as a general surgery clinic located on the hospital campus.
