She was a member of a large, respected Russell Co., KY, family, a homemaker, and a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church. Burial will be at Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, KY

Marie Grant, 88, Robertson ST, Russell Springs, KY, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY.

The funeral service will be Friday, August 19, 2011, at 1pmCT, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY with Rev. Carroll Egnew and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Matthew Cape, Matthew Chapman, Roger Chapman, John Carter Sr.; John Carter, Jr.: and Rodney Hitch. Honorary: Leon Grant, Alvin Hitch.

Marie Grant, Russell Co., KY (1923-2011)

She was born Saturday, March 24, 1923, in Akron, Summit Co., Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Mattie Hardwick Roberts and the late Ike Roberts. She died Tuesay, August 16, 2011, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 23 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ray Grant; one brother, Lester Roberts; and one sister, Ruby MacEwen.

She was a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by the following:
  • Three daughters: Sandra (Larry) Johnson, Russell Springs, KY; Vonda (John) Carter, Jamestown, KY; and Patty (Roger) Chapman, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four grandchildren: John Carter, Jr., Brandy Andrew, Jolie Carter, and Matt Chapman

  • One grandchild: John Edward Carter
