News from the Adair County High School Girls Golf

KENTUCKY HILLS GOLF COURSE, SUMMER SHADE, KY - The girls' golf team bounced back with three wins and improved match record to 6-0 on Monday, August 8, 2011.

Adair Co. shot a 190 with Ashley Goodin leading the way shooting a 41 which was the low score for all individuals.

Ashley could have easily been in the 30's but was plagued again with penalty strokes and needs to work on her course management.

Rachel Phipps came in with a 47 which was a good rebound for her from Saturday.

Emilee Royse finished with a 49 and would have carded a better score but I gave her some bad advice on hole nine and she took a risky shot that cost her.

Abby Royse hit the ball well and putted well but had some penalty strokes that pushed her into the 50 range finishing with a 53.

Jessica Simpson finished above her average but continues to improve. She had some penalty strokes that hurt her today, too.

Metcalfe Co. did not have a complete team but was led by Madison Eisenberg with a 43.

Clinton Co. finished with a 201 and was lead by Whitney Stonecipher with a 43.

Cumberland Co. finished with a 227 and was lead by Keylee Stalcup with a 50.

Nothing tops fairway action but golfers love the journey and the wonderful scenery, too. Yesterday, there's was a sign in the sky at Kentucky Hills Country Club, between Randolph and Summer Shade in Metcalfe County, where Adair County added a near-perfect performance to an already great season. "There must be a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow because we beat all three teams today," Coach Kim Goodin said. "I took that picture on the 9th fairway.
