No Boil Water Advisory at this time for CAUD

Jennifer Carter clarifies protocol for Columbia/Adair Utilities District when Boil Water Advisories are necessary
Comments re article 46109 Boiling Water Charles Marshburn needswants to know

By Jennifer Carter
Information from the Columbia/Adair Water District (CAUD)

In response to Mr. Marshburn's question/comment.

Columbia/Adair Utilities District does not have a boil water advisory issued for any of our customers at this time. We have received a couple of calls regarding a boil water advisory as well, but we do not have an active advisory.

We have to issue a boil water advisory when we have a leak or when we are doing maintenance that requires the water to be off for a period of time.

When a situation like this happens we issue a boil water advisory according to our regulations from the Division of Water/Environmental Protection.

Once we issue the advisory the Division of Water is the only agency that can release the advisory.

We notify our customers by passing out letters (if only a few customers are effected) or by a public announcement on WAIN (93.5) and WHVE (92.7) and of course Columbia Magazine.

I hope this helps.

Thank you
