Trio of transfers join Lindsey Wilson softball for 2011-12

One is from Russia, two are from Alabama

COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson College head softball coach Ashley McCool-Cozart has added three transfer student-athletes from Darton (GA) College to NAIA scholarships for the 2011-12 season.



The trio gives the softball program 13 signees for the 2011 recruiting class and includes junior utility player Evgenia Egiazarova from Moscow, Russia, junior catcher Josie Cox from Oak Grove, AL, and junior pitcher Cara Law from Anniston, AL.

Egiazarova paced Darton last season with a .412 batting average with 12 home runs, 17 doubles, 43 RBIs and a triple. The Moscow native also has playing experience with the Junior Russian National Team, playing this summer in the European Championship.

Cox hit six home runs for Darton in 2011, putting together a .362 batting average with 10 doubles and 32 RBIs, while playing in 52 games.

Law finished the season with a 21-5 record in the circle, ending the year with a 0.93 ERA and 155 strikeouts with just 26 walks in 165 innings pitched.

All three players were important pieces to the Darton program that finished last season with a 49-10 record and advanced to the NJCAA Division I National Championship. -Dan White

Evgenia Egiazarova, Moscow, Russia will be playing softball for Coach Ashley McCool-Cozart's Lindsey Wilson College squad. She transfers from Darton (GA) College, where she led the batting with a .412 average which included 12 home runs, 17 doubles, 43 RBIs and a triple.
