Worried voice recognizer won't recognize Ohio/S.T. blend

Comments re article 45591 Todays CM TechLinkClick To 12 Technologies on the way out

Jim writes:
When voice recognition becomes sophisticated enough to accurately interpret my thick Great Wooded South / Sacred Triangle accent (now overlaid with a North of the Green River patina), perhaps someone will be so kind as to let me know. Meanwhile, you'll have to pry my clickety-clackety old keyboard from my cold, dead hands :) --Jim
Jim: Just keep an eye on possibility at the Apple Store for a Billy Joe Fudge's app, "Great Wooded South Talk-to-Type. "It'll wean you off the old Royal. The current Voice Recognition apps don't work at all for us, I bet. If I said, "Signed, Ed," it would write, "Suh-eye-nd, A-uhd." Spelling my two letter, two syllable name the way it is pronounced, or properly mumbled, but it's spelled E-d, as anybody who's been to Milltown University knows. -EW.
