Sulphur Well Tales: Just one concern on the inebriate's mind Scotty Martin remembers a wreck on KY 70 near his boyhood home when he was a small child. A driver who had imbibed considerably more than the legal limit roared up the road from Sulphur Well, over the Hazel Jewell Hill, toward the Y. The car left the road, hit a telephone pole, and that pretty well finished the car. Scotty says he ran to see what had happened when the dazed driver emerged from the wreckage and scanned the terrible mess he had made. "Then he asked me," Scotty said, "Is I dead?"
