Kara Elizabeth Back receives Newell Scholarship to SCC Click on headline for full story plus photo(s) By Cindy Clouse News from Somerset Community College Kara Elizabeth Back of Burkesville has been awarded a W.O. and Lois Newell Scholarship to attend Somerset Community College for the fall 2011 semester. She plans to pursue a degree in agriculture. The W.O. and Lois Newell Scholarship was established in 2010 from funds bequeathed by Mr. and Mrs. Newell to provide scholarships to deserving students attending SCC. Back is a 2011 graduate of Cumberland County High School with a 4.0 grade point average and ranked 2nd in her graduating class. While in high school, Back was a member of Future Farmers of America, Beta Club, FCCLA and the Spanish Club. She was also named to the All 'A' Honor Roll all four years of high school, and voted Most Likely to Succeed her senior year. Back is the daughter of Michael and Terri Back of Burkesville.
