Mr. Fayette (F.H.) Smith, Green Co., KY (1924-2011)

He was the head of a large, highly regarded Green Co., KY family. He leaves 26 direct living descendants, including well known South Central Kentucky radio personality Larry Smith.

Mr. Fayette Holman "F.H." Smith, age 86, of Summersville, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Fayette Holman "F.H." Smith will be conducted at 10amCT, Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Bro. Dale Warren will be officiating. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday, until time of the funeral service.


Mr. Fayette "F.H." Smith, Green Co., KY (1924-2011)

He was the son of the late Fayette H. Smith and the late Ollie Gaines Smith. He was born Tuesday, November 11, 1924. He died Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Greensburg, Green Co., KY, at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 21 days.

He had was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church and a former Civil Service Employee at Ft. Knox and a farmer.

Survivors include his wife Betty Evans Smith, whom he married on February 2, 1952, of Summersville, KY, and the following:
  • Four sons and three daughters in law: Charles R."Chuck" and Sandy Smith of Louisville, KY; David and Connie Smith, Randall and Julie Smith all of Greensburg, KY; and Larry Smith of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three daughters and sons-in-law: Irene and Buck Henderson, Margaret and CW Carter and Dorothy and Herbie Hatcher all of Greensburg, KY

  • Nieces: Mary Jean Goff and Carol Cook both of Greensburg, KY

  • Ten grandchildren
  • Nine grand grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Besides his parents, Mr. Smith was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother, Irene Smith and Hugh Smith.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
