Haiku for May and June 2011, by Robert Stone

Dear Reader, Another two months have rolled by and here are the recent haiku. All of them were written as comments on comments or on status notes or on photographs or on blog posts or in responses to emails. If you are really curious as to what caused me to write one of these, send me a note and I'll let you know.

Haiku
written by Robert Stone, May and June 2011
Words spoken are more
than meanings behind symbols,
less than heart feelings.

- Monday, 3 May 2011

A rightside up night,
a day to bring outside in,
believing it's right.

- Wednesday, 11 May 2011

Fleet time carelessly
young yet in the golden world
birthdays flock to you.

- Saturday, 14 May 2011

Each birthday better -
none of that carpe diem
taking for granted.

- Thursday, 19 May 2011

Have Happy Birthday?
I await your prediction.
You must invent it.

- Monday, 23 May 2011

Once again divine
assails, penetrates, and molds
a burning layer.

- Monday, 23 May 2011

If you're sure your sure
and they're there in their order,
happy one more year.

- Wednesday, 25 May 2011

Of all ages and none,
of all pasts and all futures,
Love is only now.

- Wednesday, 1 June 2011

Birthdays are such stuff
as years are made on, and life
will thicken thin air.

- Wednesday, 1 June 2011

Impossible dreams
are only so to doubters,
keep reaching starward.

- Wednesday, 1 June 2011

All roads lead to Rome,
all choices lead to longing,
all birthdays to age.

- Friday, 3 June 2011

Coercing verses,
obliging time, herding words,
unsuspected treks.

- Friday, 3 June 2011

Is this my birthday?
Long ago choice now firm fixed:
This is my birthday!

- Saturday, 4 June 2011

Favorite subject.
How very interesting.
Can you say birthday?

- Wednesday, 8 June 2011

Magic age, at last.
Still looking mighty handsome.
Another great day.

- Thursday, 9 June 2011

Trick is not to mind.
Next flood finds same low places,
Aging is not seen.

- Saturday, 11 June 2011

May birthday greetings
arrive from all directions
and fill up your day.

- Tuesday, 21 June 2011

Constants are constant,
beyond heaven, beyond earth,
mathematics reigns.
