Richard Thomas Emerson, Casey Co., KY (1940-2011)

He was a member of a large, respected Casey Co., KY family. He leaves 19 direct living descendants and is also survived by 33 nieces and nephews. He was a union brick mason and a member of Rolling Hills Baptist Church. He was a 51 year member of B AC Local 18, Ohio.

Richard Thomas "Rick" Emerson of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Saturday June 25, 2011 at Mercy Fairfield Hospital. He was 71 years of age.

Funeral services will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Friday July 1, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. William Haynes officiating . Burial will be in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, July 1, 2011 from 10amET/9amCT, until funeral service.



Pallbearer are his grandsons.

Richard Thomas Emerson, Casey Co., KY (1940-2011)

He was born in Casey Co., KY, on Sunday, January 21, 1940. He was the son of the late Stanley R. and Nancy Elizabeth Lay Emerson. He died Saturday, June 25, 2011, in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH, at the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 4 days.

He was a union brick mason and member of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church and 51 years member of B A C Local 18 Ohio .

Survivors include his wife , Carolyn Cole Emerson of Ohio, and the following:
  • Three sons: Jerry Wayne Emerson of Ohio, Richard "Ricky" and (Laurie) Emerson of Ohio, and Steve Ray and ( Chandra) Emerson of LaGrange, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Six great- grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Duke, Bob and Roy Emerson, all of Liberty, KY

  • One sister: Nancy Meece of Liberty, KY

  • Thirty three nieces and nephews
.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Dean Emerson and a sister, Gail Tucker.
