M: Thinks most English errors are habit, not ignorance

Remembers helping rule of favorite English teacher, Doris Depp

Anonymous former school teacher "M" writes:
There are many intelligent folks around here, even radio announcers, who say "I seen" and "I done." My favorite English teacher, Doris Depp, would emphasize that the words seen and done require helping verbs. "I have seen" and "I have done" are correct. I think most of our English errors are made by habit, not by ignorance. -"M"
