Geary E. Newcomb, Taylor Co., KY (1932 - 2011)

He was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church and was a retired elevator mechanic with Powers Electric Company, Lexington, KY.

Geary E. Newcomb, 79, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5:30amET, Friday, June 3, 2011, in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services were at 2pmET/1pmCT, Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, by Rev. Don Gowin & Rev. Ron Young. Burial will be in Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.


Geary E. Newcomb, Taylor Co., KY (1932 - 2011)

Geary E. Newcomb was the son of the late Robert Newcomb and Irene Rafferty Newcomb. He was born in Marion Co., KY, Monday, April 18, 1932. He died on Friday, June 3, 2011, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 79 years, 1 months, and 16 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Green River Memorial Baptist Church.

He was a retired elevator mechanic with Powers Elevator Company in Lexington, KY.

He was a member of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F & AM.

He united in marriage to Lottie Akridge December 24, 1954.

Beside his wife, Lottie Newcomb, he is survived by the following:
  • Six half brothers and two half sisters: Robert Eugene Newcomb, Kathleen Raffety, Sue Yates and Jerry Newcomb of Campbellsville, KY; and Johnnie Newcomb, L. C. Newcomb and Billy Newcomb of Louisville, KY; and Jim Newcomb of Texas

  • Aunt, Nettie Newton of Louisville, KY

  • Special cousin, Sue Amick of Scottsburg, IN

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or Gideon Bibles and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, handled arrangements.
