Danielle Watson awarded Lindsey Wilson/Duo-Co. Scholarship Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY (2011-05-23) - A Cumberland County resident has been named a Duo County Scholar at Lindsey Wilson College. Taylor Danielle Watson of Burkesville, KY, has received the Lindsey Wilson Duo County Scholarship. She will attend the liberal arts college in the fall. The $3,000 tuition scholarship is given annually to a first-time, full-time Lindsey Wilson freshman from Duo County's service area, which includes parts of Adair, Cumberland and Russell counties. "Duo County is proud to continue this partnership with Lindsey Wilson College," said Duo County Telecom Director of Marketing Eric West. "Duo County understands that it is important to support our local youths' pursuit of higher education." The daughter of Danny and Kendra Watson of Burkesville, Watson plans to major in elementary education at Lindsey Wilson. While at Cumberland County High School, Watson was involved in several activities, including: Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the basketball and softball teams. She was an honor student, she received a perfect attendance award, and she was named "Most Athletic" student by her classmates. Duo County has supported the scholarship program for more than a decade at Lindsey Wilson. "Because of Duo County's commitment to our young people's educational needs, this region has a bright future," said Lindsey Wilson Fund Director Brady Button.
