Hilda Legg gets almost 90% of vote, in Adair, in primary race Knifley, Adair Co., KY native Hilda Humphress Legg wins all 16 precincts and absentee vote. Has highest county-wide vote total with 1,428. James T. Comer of Monroe Co. has impressive total of 1,180 in race for Commissioner of Agriculture; and David Williams of Burkesville gets 1,163 votes -73.51% in race for Republican nomination for Governor By Ed Waggener Republican voters in Adair County delivered 89.59% of its votes to Adair County native Hilda Legg, who, according to unofficial returns at the Secretary of State's office this morning at 3:18amCT, is running 1,102 votes behind primary opponent Bill Johnson, with 65,192 votes to Johnson's 66,408, with 3,564 of the state's precincts reporting. Other winners in the Adair County Republican primary were: Republicans: David L. Williams/Richie Farmer, for Governor, with 73.51% of the vote; John T. Kemper III, for Secretary of State, with 59.55% of the vote; James R. Comer, for Commissioner of Agriculture, 84.59% of the vote. Winners in the Adair County Democratic primary were: Elaine N. Walker for Secretary of State, with 52.58% of the vote; L.J. "Todd" Hollenbach, candidate for State Treasurer, 70.94% of the vote; and Stewart Gritton, 31.41% of the vote.Statewide, David Williams/Richie Farmer were winning the Republican primary for governor, with 48.22% of the vote in a three-way race. Statewide, in the race for the Democratic nomination for Secretary of State, the winner is Alison Lundergan Grimes, with 55.25% of the vote to 44.75% for Elaine N. Walker. Statewide, in the race for the Democratic nomination for State Treasurer, L.J. "Todd" Hollenbach was received 70.95% of the vote, almost an identical percentage as he received in Adair County. Statewide, John T. Comer, from nearby Monroe Co., KY, received a decisive 66.67% of the vote for the Republican nomination for Commissioner of Agriculture, a figure which was far less than the 84.59% he received in Adair County. Statewide, Robert "Bob" Farmer won the Democratic nomination for Commissioner of Agriculture, with 30.40% of the vote in a 5-way race. The Adair County winner, Stewart Gritton, was 4th of the five, with 16.57%.
