George Oliver Griffith, Casey Co., KY (1924-2011)

He was retired from General Electric and a member of the Carrs Chapel Church of God. He was a veteran of World War II and will be accorded military honors by the Casey County funeral squad.

George Oliver Griffith passed away Saturday May 14, 2011 at Lisa's Family Care in Kings Mountain, KY. He was 86.

Funeral services will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Monday May 16, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Cameron Cain officiating . Burial is in the Caney Fork Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.


George Oliver Griffith, Casey Co., KY (1924-2011)

He was born Monday July 21, 1924 in Casey Co., KY. He was the son of the late Lewis Opal and Eula Bell Peavey Griffith. He died Saturday, May 14, 2011, in Kings Mountain, KY, at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 23 days.He was a WWII Army veteran, retired from General Electric and member of the Carrs Chapel Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Sandusky Griffith of Liberty, KY, and the followiing:
  • Two children: Wanda and (John) Phillippe of Waynesburg, KY; and Carl and (Vicki ) Griffith of Liberty, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Ryan, Cameron and Lacy Griffith, Lori Kessler, Callie Phillippe and Sarah Breitlander

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • And sister: Atha Atwood of Versailles, KY
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Sandusky and Lois Rigney.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
