Absentee voting machine is open at the Adair Annex By Sheila Blair, Adair County Clerk Just wanted to remind everyone who will be out of the County on Election Day, May 17, 2011, that we now have the absentee machine up at the office. They may vote in the office until May 16, 2011. Also, for those persons who are unable to go to the polls on election day due to age, disability, or illness, they may request an absentee ballot by calling the office. The application for those voting by mail, must be received in the office by May 10, 2011. Office hours are 8am-4:30pmCT, Monday thru Friday, and we are also open Saturday the May 7 and Saturday, May 14, from 8am-12pmCT. If anyone has any questions they may call the office at (270) 384-2801 or (270) 384-4007. I also want to let everyone know we have buttons in the office that voters may pick up before or after they have cast their vote. These are to honor our military. Voters may write the name of a person currently serving in our military, or the name of a veteran. I would like to encourage everyone to take the time to vote. Because of the events in the last few days, we should all take advantage of this freedom, and be thankful to our military for being able to enjoy this and the many other freedoms we enjoy. Sincerely, s/ Sheila Blair, Adair County Clerk Suite 3, Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY This story was posted on 2011-05-03 10:15:59
