Adair truck headed to Alabama May 2, 2011 to aid cleanup EVERY ADAIR COUNTIAN CAN HELP THIS DIRECT RELIEF EFFORT: Donations for the storm victims are needed, and he'll haul what he can along with his equipment, he says, and adds, 'If one cannot donate, prayers are more than welcomed!' Will be at Walmart Parking lot, 2998 Burkesvillle RD, Columbia, KY, from 6am-8amCT, collecting what he can haul to help our southern friends during the aftermath of the tornado and the ongoing tragedy By Bob Barnes I felt compelled to apply through Red Cross, United Way and Birmingham Hands to volunteer in helping with the victims of last Wednesday's tornadoes. I will be leaving out at 8amCT, Monday, May 2, 2011, with backhoe, cutting torch, concrete saw, generator and chainsaw among other tools to try to help those during this tragedy. I will be at Columbia's Walmart parking lot from 6am until 8amCT, collecting what I can haul to our southern friends. They have asked for bottled water, baby diapers, baby wipes, ready to eat food and non perishables. I would imagine if you lost everything you had you would accept anything. I pledged 5-7 days of help. When I get a chance I will forward news of progress and hopefully pictures of recipients receiving the Adair County community's donations. If one cannot donate, prayers are more than welcomed! -Bob Barnes This story was posted on 2011-05-01 13:43:28
