Lord of Mighty Actions
-a metrical arrangement from Psalm 118 (tune Finlandia). For Easter.
All praise to you, O Lord of mighty actions,
All praise to you, O Lord who raised us up.
All praise to you, O Lord of mighty actions,
All praise to you, O Lord, we did not die,
But now we live, proclaiming with rejoicing
That on this day you have delivered us.

Now open wide, O Lord, the gates of vict'ry,
We shall go in, O Lord, and praise your name.
We have in you, O Lord, defense and refuge,
You chastise but, O Lord, you answer us.
And make the stone the builders had rejected
Become the chief, the chosen cornerstone.

All praise to you, O Lord of mighty actions,
All praise to you, O Lord, who raises up.
All praise to you, O Lord of mighty actions,
All praise to you, O Lord, we shall not die,
And we shall live proclaiming with rejoicing
That all our days you will deliver us.

- Robert Stone, April 17, 1992. Words based upon the Revised English Bible. Tune: Finlandia by Jean Sibelius
This arrangement of Psalm 118:14-24 was made for Easter Sunday, April 19, 1992 for The Church of The Epiphany, Lebanon, Tennessee, one of the few metrical arrangements in a collection known as "The Cedar City Psalter." -Robert Stone
