Cattlemen recognize two members at April 14, 2011 meeting Vince Pfefferman named "Cattleman of the Year," Kirby Hancock receives "Appreciation Award," also known as "Jimmy Dale Bledsoe Award," at meeting, April 14, 2011 Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Nick Roy, Adair County Extension Agent Vince Pfefferman, a beef cattle producer was awarded the Cattleman of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Association and the cattle producers of Adair County. Vince has previously served as the Adair County Cattlemen's President, member of Adair County Ag. Development Council, and Extension District Board. Vince currently serves on the Adair County Soil Conservation District and recently acquired additional funds from the Fiscal Court for the Dead Animal Disposal program that assists farmers in handling the costs associated with dead animal removal. Kirby Hancock receives Appreciation Award Kirby Hancock, Adair County FFA Advisor received the Appreciation Award, also known as the Jimmy Dale Bledsoe Award. With the support of local businesses and Adair County Ag. Development Funds, Hancock and the Adair County FFA Chapter constructed state-of-the art cattle handling facilities on school grounds to be used for a learning laboratory for both students and farmers. The facilities have been used to host multiple field days as well as an Artificial Insemination school. Hancock is also a past president of the association and currently serves as the president of the County Extension Council, member of Adair County Farm Bureau Board, and Ag Development Council.
