Dorothy Russell, 83, died at 10:20amCT, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be at 2pmET, Friday, April 15, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Landon A. Hadley. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY.



Pallbearers: Jimmy Bault, William Bault, Calvin Burris, Don Caffee, Russell Colvin, Freddie Graham, Randall Harmon, Jerry Russell, and Vic Russell.

Dorothy Russell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Buck Hagedorn and Nancy Reid Hagedorn Donaldson, was born in Jessamine Co., KY, Sunday, March 11, 1928. She died at 10:20amCT, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Columbia, Adair Co., KY at the age of 83 years, 1 month, and 2 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Houchens Grocery.

She united in marriage to Arnold Russell, Sr. June 19, 1948. He preceded her in death June 8, 1990.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son and two daughters: Biff Russell and wife, Evelyn and Judy Russell-Vaughn, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Pat Russell of Louisville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Amy Vaughn Pardue and husband, Joey of Bowling Green, KY; Adam Lee Russell and wife, Heather of Campbellsville, KY; and Amanda Russell Hurtgen and husband, Eric of Charlotte, NC

  • Four great-grandchildren: Chloe Layne Decker, River Lee Russell, Seth Gray Russell and Magnolia Rain Russell

  • One brother and one sister: Thomas Hagedorn and wife, Lin of Magnolia, Texas and Mary Edna Gooseman of Altamonte Springs, FL

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John B. Hagedorn.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to the Alzheimer's Association and may be made at the funeral home.
