Jessee Neat has been called as Rector of Church of the Ascension, Frankfort, KY. Father Neat is a native of Adair County and is married to Jenny (Sherrod) Neat of Lexington, KY. They have one son, Will, who resides in Morgantown, WV with his family. Prior to being called as the sixteenth rector of the Church of the Ascension, Father Neat served for seven and a half years as the rector of Christ Church, King and Queen Parish in Chaptico, Maryland, which is in the Diocese of Washington; and for four years as an associate rector at Saint James, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Father Neat earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1975, was awarded Master, Administration of Justice by Wichita State University in 1981, and received his Master of Divinity degree from The General Theological Seminary of the Episcopal Church (NYC) in 1999. Prior to ordination, Fr. Neat served twenty-one years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996. His first Sunday at Ascension will be June 26, 2011. Services are at 8amET/7amCT and at 10:30amET/9:30amCT.
