By Lila Ford
News from Adair Co. Genealogical Society

The Adair County Genealogical Society and the Adair County Public Library would like to encourage everyone to participate in an essay project focusing on the following topics related to Adair County:
Black History; Church History; Courthouse History; Men's History; Military History; Town History; and Women's History.
This project is open to all Adair County residents and there is no age limit. This does not exclude anyone who has ever been a resident of Adair County. Essays are to be one page with or without picture. You may submit more than one essay. Essays can be turned in at the Adair County Public Library at 307 Greensburg St or mailed to the Adair County Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 613, Columbia, KY 42728.

Everyone who participates will receive a certificate of participation. The reason for the essay project is to collect more history on and about Adair County and her people. For more information, please call the library at 270-384-2472 and ask for Ernie or Lee Ann. The deadline for the entries is September 9, 2011. - Lila Ford
