She was a native of Adair Co., KY, the widow of Almer Johnsie Bishop, and member of a respected Green Co., family. She was a homemaker and a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church

Mrs. Jeanette Bishop, 76, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette Bishop were conducted at 1pmCT, Tuesday, March 22, in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro. Robert Adkins and Bro. Gilbert Larimore officiated.



Pallbearers: David Robertson, Edward Robertson, Stephen Bishop, Orry Bishop, Brandon Bishop, Terry Bishop. Edgar Yates, Joe Yates, Chris Shutters, and Lawrence Yates.

Honorary pallbearers: Jerry Cross, Billy Robertson, Clayton Edwards, Carlos Turner, Daryl Taylor, Sonny Shively, Tommy Yates, and Andrew Yates.

Jeanette Estes Bishop, Green Co., KY (1934-2011)

Mrs. Jeanette Bishop was the daughter of the late Edward Hershel Estes and Faye England Estes. She was born on July 3, 1934 in Adair Co., KY and departed this life on Saturday, March 19, 2011 Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY. She was 76 years, 8 months and 16 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Almer Johnsie Bishop who preceded her in death on February 23, 2010.

Survivors include the following:
  • Four sons and two daughters-in-law: Charles "Elk" Bishop, Kenneth "Gap" Bishop both of Greensburg, KY; William "Bo" and Lisa Bishop of Louisville, KY; James "Bugs" and Debbie Bishop of Hodgenville, KY

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Janet and Clayton Edwards of Greensburg, KY

  • A sister: Magalene Robertson of Center, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Six great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Bishop was also preceded in death by two sons: Donald Lewis Bishop and Thomas Lee Bishop; four sisters and two brothers: Marie Gregory, Mary Katherine McElroy, Shirley Shutters, Hazel Estes, Odell Estes and William Aaron Estes.

The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
