Adair fund drive for LWC named in memory of Don Franklin

Funds raised through Don Franklin Spring Drive of 2011 will provide scholarship support for Adair County students who attend Lindsey Wilson College

By Duane Bonifer
News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - This year's Adair County Fund Drive for Lindsey Wilson College students will remember the career of one of the county's greatest citizens - the late Don Franklin.

Franklin, whose business interests included a car dealership, died in 2008.

In honor of Franklin's impact on the county, this year's Adair County drive has been named the Don Franklin Spring Drive of 2011. All gifts made during the drive, which runs through June 30, will provide scholarship support for Adair County residents who attend Lindsey Wilson.

This school year, 348 residents are enrolled at the college. A total of 97 percent of LWC undergraduate students receive financial aid, and more than 85 percent of LWC undergraduate students are the first in their family to attend college.
