Ed, I was in Columbia yesterday and drove around the square to be sure of the location of the White Cash Market. It was next door to the purple store, in the Cafe on the Square building. I must have left home by the time it moved to Burkesville Street, but I remember being in the Library in the old brick house while Mother was librarian there.

As an aside, she couldn't have the job of "librarian" because, even though she had her education in Library Science, she never got a degree in the subject, hence the arrival of Bob Allender. And she ran the library for several years before Bob came, until a "librarian" could be found. She never saw the new library. By the time it opened she was too ill to go out.
