Information on Little Cake School

About: photo 25950 Scenic Adair County Little Cake School

David Bates writes:
This old school house was bought by my uncle Elwin Hardwick in the 1960's and moved to its present location. Elwin bought to make a home for his parents Orren G. and Bessie Hardwick. I remember spending many happy times there with my grandparents, my parents, aunts, uncles and countless cousins, including Bobby Hardwick, who is in one of the class pictures (I just spoke with Bob last week). Bess Died on Christmas eve in 1967 and Oren died New Years eve 1967, one week apart.

It happens that, today I am leaving on a trip that includes a stop at this old schoolhouse for current pictures.

Thanks for publishing these pictures, I will be posting a link on Facebook where the Hardwicks keep in touch.
