KSP Post 15 issues activity report for February 2011 Two traffic fatalities in Russell, one in Marion, in February 2011 raise total fatalities for year to five, an increase of 67% over same period in Post 15 area a year ago. Statewide, traffic fatalities are down slightly vs. one year ago, 87 in 2011, 99 in 2010 By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Columbia, KY - During the month of February, 2011, there were 22 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.There were three fatalities during the month of February in the Post 15 area:
State wide fatality count stands at 87 compared with 99 through this same period in 2010. During the month of February, 2011, there were 1167 citations written, 402 courtesy notices written, 1299 vehicles inspected, 639 complaints answered, 102 motorists assisted, 51 criminal cases opened and 183 criminal arrests made.
