Roger Neal Parnell, Adair Co., KY native (1975-2011)

He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a member of a respected family with deep roots in Adair, Green, and Metcalfe Counties of South Central Kentucky. He was a tree trimmer by occupation.

Mr. Roger Neal Parnell of Knob Lick, KY, formerly of Hodgenville, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Metcalfe County.

Graveside services for Mr. Roger Neal Parnell were conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Maple Hill Cemetery. Bro. Kenny Parnell and Bro. Billy Blaydes officiated.

Mr. Roger Neal Parnell was the son of Nona Rogers Richardson of Hodgenville, KY, and the late Kenneth Parnell. He was born on Saturday, July 26, 1975 in Adair Co., KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Metcalfe Co., KY. He was 35 years, six months and 28 days of age.

He was a self-employed tree trimmer.

Besides his mother, he is survived by the following:
  • Five sons: Nathan Parnell, Aaron Parnell, Darren Parnell, Kevin Parnell all of Michigan and Sidney Donahue of Lebanon, KY

  • Four brothers and three sisters and their spouses: Kenny and Shawn Parnell, Don and Nancy Parnell both of Knob Lick, KY; Charlie and Donna Parnell of Columbia, KY; Kendal Parnell of Hodgenville, KY; Kathy and Charles Tarter of Columbia, KY' Lara and Danny Burton of Greensburg, KY; and Carolyn and Russell Head of Elizabethtown, KY

  • A special friend: Sylvia Livers of New Hope, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.Mr. Parnell was also preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Troy and Kim Parnell.

    Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, are in charge of the funeral arrangements.
