Organist Tim Baker at Ransdell Chapel March 1, 2011 By Elena Groholske News from Campbellsville University Tim Baker, organist at Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church, Louisville, KY, will perform the music of Mozart, Frank Bridge, and Bach, at the Third Annual Noon Time Organ Recital Series at 12:20pmET/11:20amCT, on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Campbellsville University's Ransdell Chapel, 401 North Hoskins AV, Campbellsville, KY. The recital is free and open to the public. Baker will play on the 1894 Farrand and Votey pipe organ in the chapel. Baker graduated from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY, with a degree in organ performance and church music. At Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church, he also accompanies all choirs and ensembles and directs the Chancel Bells Handbell Choir. Baker is president of the board of directors for the William Bauer Foundation that is restoring the Pilcher Pipe Organ in Memorial Auditorium of Louisville and oversees the care and maintenance of the 1887 Van Dinter Organ at St. Frances of Rome Church in Louisville. Baker has been heard in concert with the Louisville Orchestra, Louisville Bach Society, Louisville Chorus, Voces Novae, Louisville Youth Choir, Choral Arts Society, the Youth Performing Arts School Choral and Theater Departments and Mass of the Air TV program. In his free time, Baker can be found working the projector at his local cinema and working in regional community theater as music director and accompanist. Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music at CU, said the series is designed to provide an opportunity for those in the community to hear outstanding organists and our prized instrument in short concert programs during their lunch break.
