Great Backyard Bird Count: Start early, count late Participants in the Great Backyard Bird Count should be able to send their first checklist in before 7amCT, this morning, February 20, 2011, the Third and very critical day of the count. According to the Columbia Mesonet Station, Sunrise is at 6:22amCT, this morning. Those who identify birds by their voices will be able to count before sunrise, those of us who have to see the birds will have one of the best opportunities of the day between 6:22 and 7:45am. The Mesonet station says sunset today will be at 5:26pmCT, today.
