LWC Athletics sports ministry seeks shoes for Belize

Blue Raiders and Chamber join to collect shoes for needy Belize

By Sue Stivers

The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce is in partnership with the Athletic Department at Lindsey Wilson College in a "Sports Ministry" Project. The ministry is collecting shoes for people in the country of Belize who do not have any shoes. The shoes can be any size, new or slightly used and shoes that are worn in warm weather.

A team of athletes will be going on a mission trip to Belize sometime this summer, and will takethe shoes with them to give to the needy.

If you attend the basketball games at 6pmCT for the women, 8pmCT for the men, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard DR, Columbia, KY, as the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders take on Shawnee State University, the admission will be a pair of shoes. If you do not attend the game and would like to donate a pair of shoes, you may bring them, to the Chamber Office at 201 Burkesville ST, by 4pmCT on February 17, 2011.

Participation will be deeply appreciated. Sue Stivers, Executive Director
