Columbia Womans Club has two upcoming activities By Anabelle Burkett News from the Columbia Woman's Club Columbia Woman's Club President Delwin Blair announced two upcoming activities at last night's meeting, Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Members will participate in the First Lady Beshear's program Shop & Share at Kroger, 81 U.S. 127, Russell Springs, KY, February 5, 2011 from 12pm- 2pmCT. Columbia Woman's Club members will be accepting donations for the Bethany House in Somerset. We are committed to assist this excellent program and refuge for victims of domestic violence. Please shop at Krogers on this date to support Mrs. Beshear and the Columbia Woman's Club in this effort. Columbia Woman's Club proudly supports our troops and is working in conjunction with USA Cares, Inc. on the project "Operation Brave Boxer." The mission is to provide clean undergarments, hygiene products, phone cards and postage to service members. Woman's Club members brought a whole bunch of boxers to the meeting. We feel this cause deserves a broader effort and invite the general community to join us in making "Operation Brave Boxer" a great success. We will be collecting new underwear for the troops (men and women) at Intrepid Home Health, 220 Office Park DR, Columbia KY from 7am - 4 pmCT. This project is through the months of February and March. We will drive to Radcliff, KY to deliver the items. We hope you'll join us in giving back a little to our troops. For more information, contact Anabelle Burkett at (270) 226-9472. -Annabell Burkett This story was posted on 2011-01-26 19:31:56
