Obituary: Rosella Foley, 75, Russell Co., KY

She was the matriarch of a large respected Russell Co., KY family. She leaves 32 direct living descendants. She was a member of Coffey Hill Friendship Church and a homemaker

Rosella Foley, 75, Robertson RD, Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at her home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 1, 2011, at 11amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Loy the officiating clergy and special music by Tonya Gosser. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Friday, December 31, 2010, at the funeral home.


Pallbearers: James Johnson, Larry Durham, Allen English, Paul English, Richard Terry, Justin Roy, Kenny Roy, and Dout Feltner.

Rosella Gilpin Foley, Russell Co., KY (1935-2010)

Rosella Foley, was the daughter of Audrey Haste Gilpin and Roy Gilpin. She was born Saturday, January 23, 1935, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, and died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 6 days.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Foley, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Four daughters: Wanda Durham and Katherine Johnson, both of Russell Springs, KY. Linda Bird, Ohio; and Debbie English, Florida

  • A son in law: Richard Terry, Russell Springs, KY

  • A dear friend: Carol Casey

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Five brothers: Esker Gilpin, Joe Gilpin, Jeff Gilpin, and Gary Gilpin, all of Russell Springs, KY;and Larry Gilpin of Ohio.

  • Four sisters: Faurene Monhollen, Lilllian Monhollen, and Hellen Glasgens, all of Ohio; Connie Willoughby, Kentucky

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • One great great grandchildren
She was a homemaker and a member of the Coffey Hill Friendship Church.

She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Brooklyn Vandervelde, and two brothers,, Jerry and Lester Gilpin.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
