Obituary: Evelyn Sears, 82, Casey Co., KY, native

She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church

Evelyn Sears, 82 of Lexington died Thursday December 23, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmET/12pm noon CT. Monday December 27, 2010, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY by Bro. Morris Bryant. Burial will be at Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 6-9pmET/5-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



Evelyn Sears, Casey Co., KY, native (1928-2010)

She was born in Casey County on Saturday, September 1, 1928. She was the daughter of the late J. D. and LuAnn Bryant Smallwood. She died Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 22 days.

She was the widow of Gene Sears, a homemaker and member of the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons: Phillip and (Janice) Smallwood of Liberty, KY; and Larry and Gary Sears of Lexington, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • A brother; William Smallwood of Liberty, KY

  • aand two sisters, Ettie Pearl Tucker of Liberty and Irene Peavey of Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband , she was also preceded in death by two son, Ricky Sears and Hue Austin Edwards and two siblings, Estell and Hershell Smallwood.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
