Judge Melton issues advisory on roads, special needs

Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton called to say that the Adair County Road Department has been on the job salting paved roads since the snow accumulation began.

"We're plowing all the paved roads as quickly as we can get to them," she said, "but we won't be plowing the chip and seal or gravel roads. It tears them up too much," she said.

If persons living on a chip-and-seal or gravel road needs assistance getting in or out today, they are advised to call the judge's office at (270) 384-4703. "We'll make every effort to get assistance," she said.

"So far," she said, "we haven't had any calls for help because of the low temperatures, but if anyone needs help, they are welcome to call our office.

Many Adair Countians will have to be out today, she said, and reminded them to be especially careful.

"I know Adair Countians will be looking in on the elderly and others who might need assistance today. It's the Adair County Way," she said, "but I do want to offer a gentle reminder of the importance of looking out for each other during the winter storm."
