Obituary: Dorothy Barrett, 81, Russell Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected family with deep roots in Russell and Adair Counties, KY. She was a seamstress

Dorothy Barrett, Foley DR, Russell Springs, KY, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, December 11, at 1pmCT, at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner DR, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richard Lehman and Bro. Vitis Bailey the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery, 131 New Hope Church RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be Saturday, 10amCT, family only, at Wilson Funeral Home.



Dorothy Barrett, 81, Russell Co., KY (1929-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Fred Lahmann and Ethel Lahmann. She was born Wednesday, March 13, 1929, in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH. She died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in Somerset, Pulaski Co., KY, at the age of 81 years, 8 months, and 25 days.

She was a seamstress.

She is survived by the following:
  • A son: Ed (Janice) Barrett, Russell Springs, KY

  • A brother: Edward Lahmann, Cincinnati, OH

  • Two sisters in law: Marie Brockman, Greenfield, IN, and Helen Lahmann

  • Grandchildren: Dorothy and Ray Parson, Loretta and Richard Roy, Russell Springs, KY

  • One great granddaughter: Brittany Roy, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two great grand sons: Blake and Kolbie Roy, Russell Springs, KY

  • One great great granddaughter: Brylie Jade, Russell Springs, KY

  • Two step granddaughters: Melinda Weiand and Donna (Tim) Pierce

  • One step grandson: Larry Wayne (Sandy) Wallace, Colubmia, KY

  • One special step great grandson: Logan Shearer, Jamestown, KY
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ethel Lahmann; one sister, Ethel Sue Fitzerer; two brothers, Lawrence and Sonny Lahmann; and one step grand daughter, Sherry Renee Shearer.

Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner DR, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
