Obituary: Leona Hicks Cable, 85, Taylor Co., KY

She was a native of North Carolina, a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church, and had been an employee of Monson's and Parks Belk Department Stores in Campbellsville, KY

Leona Hicks Cable 85, of Campbellsville, KY. died at 3:01amET, Friday December 3, 2010 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, December 6, 2010, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Shaun Caudill and Rev. Jim Collison. Burial will be in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Sunday, December 5, 2010, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Leona Hicks Cable, Taylor Co., KY (1925-2010)

Leona Hicks Cable was the daughter of the late Benjamin Hicks and Essie Faye Hayes Hicks. She was born Sunday, September 20, 1925 in Boone, Wataugua Co., NC and died Friday December 3, 2010 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 13 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She had been an employee of Monson's and Parks Belk Department Stores.

She united in marriage to Richard Cable September 22, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2007.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son, Jimmie Cable of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three granddaughters: Gina Wilber of Wagener, SC; Libby Wright of Leesville, SC and Misty Hughes of Bowling Green, KY

  • Five great-grandchildren: Jamie Wilber, T.J. Mays, Brittany Mays, Logan Hughes and Lindsey Hughes

  • One great-great-granddaughter: E'Moni Elizabeth Vasser

  • Three sisters and one brother: Earlene Holtzclaw and Janet Osborne of Campbellsville, KY; Ruth Greer of Knifley, KY; and Lloyd Hicks of Carrollton, GA

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda Cable; a brother and two sisters: Lewis Hicks, Gertrude Bright and Mrs. Bennie Warren.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the funeral home.

Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
