Obituary: Sister Dorothy McMannon, formerly of Columbia, KY Sister Dorothy served as Pastoral Associate in the Good Shepherd Parish, including the Columbia, KY, Good Shepherd Church, from 1978-1989. Sister Dorothy McMannon, member Our Lady of Victory Missionary (OLVM) Sisters, a resident of Victory Noll, died at 1:15pmET, Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll, Huntington, IN. Sister Dorothy was born in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY on Wednesday, August 24, 1921. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Weisbecker McMannon. She died Wednesday, November 24, 2010, in Huntington, Huntington Co., IN, at the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 30 days. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters, George, Thomas, William and Raymond McMannon and Mary Catherine, Elizabeth, and Mary McMannon. Sister Dorothy entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on October 30, 1940, and made first vows on August 5, 1943. She served in the Missions in Ohio, California, Utah, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky. Sister Dorothy served as Pastoral Associate in the Good Shepherd Parish, including the Columbia, KY, Good Shepherd Church, from 1978-1989. Sister returned to Victory Noll in August 2010. A Vigil Service was held on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Victory Noll Memorial Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was celebrated on Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Reverend Thomas Fahey presided. Burial was in the Victory Noll Cemetery in Huntington, IN. McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington, IN, was in charge of arrangements.
