Obituary: Mary Louise Selby, 94, Russell Co., KY

She a native of Carroll Co., MO and was member of a highly regarded Kentucky family with deep strong family ties in Russell and Adair Counties of KY. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church

Mary Louise Selby, 94, of Russell Springs, KY, died at Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY, on Monday, November 29, 2010.

The funeral service will be Friday, December 3, 2010, at 10amCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Danny Withers and Bro. John D. Blakey the officiating clergy. Special music will be by John and Fay Blakey of Columbia, KY. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Thursday, December 2, 2010.

Pallbearers: Wendell Taylor, Steven Robertson, David Robertson, Clifton Taylor, Kenny Taylor, and Wes Taylor.



Mary Louise Selby, Russell Co., KY (1916-2010)

Mary Louise Taylor Selby was born in Carroll Co., MO, on Wednesday, July 26, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Ela Helm taylor and Samuel Taylor. She died Monday, November 29, 2010, in Jamestown, Russell Co., KY, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 3 days.

She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She had been a grocery clerk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cosby Selby.

She is survived by the following:
  • One granddaughter: Holly (Todd) Claborn, Shelbyville, TN

  • One great grandson: Evan Hunter Claborn

  • One daughter in law: Nell Selby, Russell Springs, KY

  • One brother: Max (Laveda) Taylor, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Ruby Hulse, Louisville, KY; and Doris Robertson, Glasgow, KY
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Keith Selby and Glen Taylor Selby and three brothers, Osburn, Porter, and Charles Taylor.Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
