Obituary: Toshia Leighanna Parrish, 19, Burkesville, KY

She was a member of a respected Cumberland Co., KY family and was the mother of three small children. Her father, Jeff Cowan is formerly of Columbia, KY

Toshia Leighanna Parrish, age 19, of Burkesville, KY, died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at University of Louisville Hospital, in Louisville, KY

The funeral service will be at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, KY, at 11:30amCT, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery, Burkesville, KY. Friends are invited to call Monday, November 28, 2010, from 5pm until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. Burkesville, KY.


Toshia Leighanna Parrish, Burkesville, KY (1991-2010)

Toshia was born in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., Kentucky on Thursday, January 24, 1991. She was a daughter of Tammy L. (Parrish) Cowan, and James Welch. She died Thursday, November 25, 2010, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 19 years, 10 months, and 1 day.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dallas Parrish, and one aunt, Doris Hayes.

Survivors include the following:
  • Mother and stepfather: Tammy and Jeff Cowan of Burkesville, KY (Jeff was formerly of Columbia, KY)

  • Her father: James Welch of Indianapolis, IN

  • One son: Brandon Parrish, of Burkesville, KY

  • Two daughters: Jazmine Parrish, and Abigail Castillo, both of Burkesville, KY

  • Her grandmothers: Lou Daniels of Burkesville, KY, and Sharon Welch of Indianapolis, IN

  • Her grandfather: James Welch of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two brothers: Joshua Shaw, and Jeffrey Cowan, both of Burkesville, KY

  • Four sisters: Whitney Parrish, Peggy Cowan, Lou Cowan, Heaven Cowan, all of Burkesville, KY

  • Two step sisters: Amy Cowan, of Russell Springs, KY; and Brittany Cowan, of Chicago, IL

  • Special friend: Junior Guerra, of Burkesville, KY
Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. Burkesville, KY in charge of arrangements.
