Metcalfe Co. Rescue house has proven its need, already

The hope had been that it would never have to be used - just be there in case it was needed. Unfortunately, the need has come early. Fortunately, the rescue house was there when needed

Comments re article 39657 Metcalfe CoSC Rescue House is 1st in the State of Kentucky

Tami Gearlds writes:The fire rescue house is a wonderful amazing thing to have happened for Metcalfe County.

As of today we have had 2 families who have already used the home. We hoped that we would never have to use it, just to have it there just in case.

The first family moved in on the 30 of October, 2010, not even a month after the ribbon cutting.

We've just moved our second family in this past Monday, they are still there at this time. Would love the chance to show the importance of a fire rescue house in every county.

When someone has lost everything this gives them time to get things in order. They will know, their family will have a roof over their head, a place to keep them warm, in a terrible time of their lives. I thank you. -Tami Gearlds
Thanks Tami Gearlds. CM will want to do a follow-up story and photos about this wonderful area resource. We'll be contacting you soon. We are hoping other South Central Kentucky Counties will follow Metcalfe's lead. It's especially heartwarming to hear that the Metcalfe Co/South Central Kentucky Rescue House has been there when needed. -Ed Waggener
