Boothless CIC puts crimp in Bernice Flowers scholarship fund Democratic Women's Club has funded Bernice Flowers Scholarship fund for 20 years with money the club raises at its Christmas in Columbia Booth. This year, there won't be booths, but you can help keep the tradition going with donations to the DWC By Victoria Pike The Adair County Democrat Women's Club will be unable to have a booth at Christmas in Columbia this year. We have been told there will be no place for vendors booths this year. This has been our fundraising event for our Bernice Flowers Scholarship for a graduating high school senior for nearly 20 years. We want to thank those who have supported us in the past by purchasing our baked goods and crafts. This year has caught us by surprise. Those wishing to make donations to the scholarship fund may do so by sending it to Victoria Pike, 3011 Burkesville RD, Columbia KY 42728 or giving it to one of our officers. Cynthia Rowe, Pam Shearer, or Evelyn Phelps. Next year we will have to make a hard decision on how to fund it. If anyone has any ideas, please contact me at (270) 384-3348. One idea would be to add a donation when you pay your regular dues in the spring. Again, thank you to all our wonderful ladies who work so hard supporting our party and the events we have. Sincerely, s/Victoria Pike, President Democratic Womens Club This story was posted on 2010-11-23 18:09:47
