Obituary: William Skaggs (1929 - 2010), Taylor Co., KY

He was a retired pipefitter, welder, and crane operator with American Air Filter in Louisville, KY

William "Bill" Skaggs, 81, died at 3:30amET, Thursday, November 11, 2010 in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be at 1pmET/noon CT, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. J. Alvin Hardy. Burial will be in Skaggs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amET/9amET, Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the funeral home.



William Skaggs, Taylor Co., KY (1929 - 2010)

William "Bill" Skaggs was the son of the late James Franklin Skaggs and Lillian Whitlow Skaggs. He was born Thursday, August 8, 1929 in Bridgepoint, IN. He died at Louisville, KY at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 3 days.

He was a retired pipefitter, welder and crane operator with American Air Filter.

He united in marriage to Jewell Smith November 22, 1955.

Besides his wife, Jewell Skaggs of Fairdale, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Jean Black of Louisville, KY

  • One brother and one sister: Raymond J. Skaggs of Campbellsville, KY, and Nadine Rafferty of Louisville, KY

  • Special friend: Pam Shofner of Louisville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Bob Skaggs and Flora Pritchard.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY in charge of arrangements.
